beading through the blues

okay, beth and i have talked about this recently--about the fact that we are both terribly lonely! and it doesn't really hit home for me until friday nights. that's when i've had a really stressful week (usually due to my passive aggressive co-worker jenna) and i'd really love to go out for a drink or dinner or something with friends to just get out! but what usually happens is that i go home, have nowhere to go, nothing to do, eat my geriatric dinner (i often eat at 5:30 here!), and i put on pajamas and simmer while reading in bed. part of this is due to the fact that i hate to burden jessica with being my only real friend here. she's here with her fiance, so i hardly think she should spend every weekend night with me!

this friday though, i did watch a movie. i watched my favorite movie of all time, i think--ma vie en rose. this is not to be confused with the marion cotillard movie LA vie en rose about edith piaf. ma vie en rose came out in about 1997 and is about a little boy named ludovic who likes to dress like a girl and is convinced that when he grows up he'll be a girl and can marry the love of his life, jerome. it's sad, funny, and adorable and is just a really great film--especially the technicolor dream parts about "pam" who is the french version of barbie here.

i have also made another necklace. this one is not for me. i like it enough, but i don't think it's my style. maybe i will give it away to someone or someone has a friend who would like it for a gift. or maybe, as my acquaintance kirstin said, i could sell it for $10 or something. who knows, but here it is:

let me know if you're interested :P
